Yi-Ping and Gourav Kumbhojkar teamed up to win the 2025 ASME IDETC-CIE Student Hackathon on the nTop problem. Performance was evaluated based on surrogate-model accuracy, inverse-design quality, and technical presentation. The team fully utilized an active-learning perspective in both sampling and optimization, allowing the design window to be shrunk and a better design to be identified.
The pair also won the Hackathon Meme competition, selected as the winner by popular vote.
